As a sustainable vineyard in New York, we see sustainability not as a checklist, but as a relationship—between soil, vine, people, and time. Our approach is grounded in three enduring pillars: environmental stewardship, social equity, and economic viability. These are not abstract ideals. They shape every vine row, every decision, every vintage. Together, they guide us to farm with intention, restraint, and purpose.
At the heart of our vineyard is a simple but guiding belief: Menos es Más—less is more. It’s a philosophy that shapes not only how we craft our wines, but how we care for the land that makes them possible.
Our Vibrant Ecosystem
Set across 75 acres of gently undulating land on Long Island, our farm is home to 14 vinifera varieties, each rooted in sandy loam glacial soils and nurtured by our maritime climate. The natural moderation of temperatures in our area allows for a slower, more balanced ripening—one that reveals nuance rather than force.
Here, Menos es Más begins in the soil.
By doing less to disturb its natural balance, we allow more life to flourish. Through careful testing and regenerative practices, we foster microbial diversity that strengthens vine health from below. The result is a vineyard that is not controlled, but guided—one that expresses a true sense of place through sustainably grown, estate-produced wines.
Our oldest vines, planted in 1996, now approach 30 years of growth. Our newest, planted in 2020, carry that legacy forward. Together, they form a continuum – evidence of our commitment to long term sustainable viticulture.
To practice Menos es Más in the vineyard is to intervene only when necessary—and always with care.
Our low-impact, sustainable winegrowing practices include:
- Reduced-risk inputs and biopesticides that protect both vine and the surrounding ecosystem
- No herbicides of any kind on our vines
- Cover crops and wildflowers that invite pollinators and beneficial insects, naturally balancing the vineyard ecosystem
This is regenerative and environmentally responsible vineyard farming, where fewer inputs create stronger, more resilient vines and biodiversity is not managed, but encouraged.
Our Home, Our Responsibility
This vineyard is our backyard. It is where we live, where we work, and where future generations will walk the same rows.
There is an unspoken understanding in that: to leave the land better than we found it. To live here is to understand that every action matters. That less impact today creates more possibility tomorrow.
In the end, Menos es Más is not just a philosophy. It is a promise — by doing less, more care will be given; more balance will be preserved; and more fidelity captured in every bottle.
Menos es Más. Sustainable vineyard. Estate-grown wines. North Fork. Long Island. New York.
